Turbine by-pass

Turbine by-pass Description

Full range of combined desuperheating and pressure reducing valves, also called steam conditioning stations. One common application of this type of equipment is to by-pass steam turbines.

Steam turbine by-pass

WELLAND & TUXHORN desuperheating and pressure reducing stations.

Optimum control of steam pressure and temperature; water absorbed throughout the operating range.

Motive steam desuperheating / atomising system. Part of the steam in the valve is exploited for re-injection at jet speed into the nozzles, thus helping to form steam mist and improving its absorption.

Maximum efficiency at low steam flow (low speeds) with shorter length of the required straight section of piping.

Custom designs for discharge conditions to the condenser via dump-tube.

Desuperheating at high and/or low pressures, output temperature control by calculating the balance of energy (enthalpy) during discharge to condenser.

In combination with an electrohydraulic system, it meets the DIN EN ISO 4126-5 safety standards for protection against line overpressure, as per TRD 421 TUV-approved system. This design allows for omission of the boiler safety valve given as the valve opens in cases of excessive HP line pressure.

Noise level guaranteed in accordance with VDMA 24422 regulations.

Complete hydraulic units and servo systems to control and operate the valves.

Supply of the complete set of auxiliary valves for regulation or isolation of steam and water injection.

Integrated solution for the turbine by-pass package: design and supply of equipment, control and legalisation philosophy.

Technical support for installation, start-up and maintenance.

Used by several main turbine manufacturers: SIEMENS, GE, ALSTOM, MAN, SKODA, HITACHI, MITSUBISHI, etc.
