Choke Valve
Choke valve is a kind of control valves, mostly used in oil and gas production wells to control the flow of well fluids being produced.
Choke valves allow fluid flow through a very small opening, designed to kill the reservoir pressure while regulating the well production. The reservoir fluids can contain sand particles. Our choke valves are designed to handle an erosive service.
Taking into account that in some cases it handles three-phase fluids (solid, liquid and gas) and with high pressures of up to 400 bar, the service performed by the choke valve is one of the most demanding in the industry.
Our severe service trims are designed for each application: single cage, multi-cage, multi-step, multi-stage, special with disk stacks.
The disk stack has a multiple set of tortuous paths. Along each pathway there are restriction and expansion chambers controlling the speed of the fluid. They are designed to:
-
- Eliminate cavitation and reduce associated noise and premature damage
- Minimize energy dissipation to within acceptable levels
- Handle gas applications / low noise steam
Hard metal options including tungsten carbide and ceramics for superior erosion resistance.
